Not sure

“Should I save more?” is a request for advice. Batzen only answers questions about your transactions and gives no financial advice.

Calculated without AI. No financial or tax advice.

A budget book used to mean: a spreadsheet, or handing over access.

By hand in a spreadsheet

  • Open the CSV and assign every row to a category yourself.
  • Start over every month.

A service that connects to your account

  • You give an outside service access to your account.
  • Your transactions are kept by an outside service.

Batzen

  • Drop in the file, Batzen sorts it.
  • Nothing leaves your Mac.
  • Nobody gets access to your account.

First what it understood, then the number.

Before Batzen gives you a number, it shows how it understood your question. So you see what is being calculated.

  1. Your question

“How much did I spend on groceries in September?”

  2. Building blocks

What: spending, When: September 2026, Category: groceries. You can change every block.

  3. The number

The calculation doesn’t use AI. The AI only interprets the question.

Not sure If a question is unclear or asks for advice, Batzen says “not sure” and doesn’t make up a number.

Does Batzen connect to my bank account?

No. You download the file yourself in online banking. That’s intentional: this way nobody gets access to your account.

Batzen processes your bank files, transactions and questions only on your Mac. There is no sign-up, no cloud and no tracking in the app. The AI, Apple Intelligence, also runs on your Mac.

Do I need Apple Intelligence?

Only for the AI features. Without it, import, rules, overview, budgets and subscriptions still work; only AI categories and free-form questions are missing.

Is there a subscription?

No. The plan: free with 1 account and all features, no time limit. The full version is a one-time €29.99 for any number of accounts.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet, and there is no date for it.

What can’t Batzen do?

No automatic connection to your account, that’s intentional. No iPhone, no iCloud sync and no credit card PDFs.

When will Batzen be released?

There is no date yet. Join the waitlist and you’ll get an email when Batzen is out.

Is this financial advice?

No. Batzen answers questions about your transactions and gives no financial, investment or tax advice.
